The apartment is in the heart of Stockbridge, just to the North of the City's central New Town - and there is plenty to see and do right on your doorstep. Stockbridge has its own market every Sunday, with premium local produce and Scottish crafts. It also has its own annual Stockbridge Festival for 9 days at the end of June and the famous charity duck race where 1000 ducks are launched into the Water of Leith, which winds it's way through the area. Getting around The flat/house is a few minutes from Stockbridge Market and Princes Street with it's many speciality shops and restaurants. For those who like some green space The Meadows) is a 20 min walk away. Similarly, the EICC, St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle and many others are all nearby. Edinburgh has an excellent transport system with frequent buses and trams to most locations such as Portobello beach or Edinburgh Zoo. Besides walking and trams/buses, you can also make use of the affordable taxis and Uber, particularly if you are carrying heavy bags. If you would like to travel in a healthy and fun way consider renting out a bike and travelling via the various bike routes available.
