The cottage was in excellent condition; everything we needed was there. When we provided some feedback on a couple of minor issues, they arranged to have them fixed straight away. Location, a very quiet village (pub, school, church), was ideal as...

Property information

Birch Cottage is located in the picturesque village of Northrepps. Walkers, and dogs, will love exploring the pretty lanes and established trails that run through the village, especially the twenty minute walk across the fields to the stunning coast at Overstrand. With a south-facing suntrap of a garden, a friendly family run village pub just down the road, and playing fields around the corner, there's something here for holidaymakers of all ages.

Neighbourhood information

The rural village of Northrepps provides a wonderful holiday location, and is home to a lovely traditional local pub, The Foundry Arms. Many fabulous beaches are easy to reach by car, including Cromer, Sea Palling, Overstrand, Mundesley, West Runton and East Runton, and Sheringham, many which have been awarded Blue flags. The lovely, family orientated traditional seaside town of Cromer has an award-winning pier, beautiful beaches with rock pools, cliffs and great sandy expanses, plus many fabulous independent places to eat out. Cromer is known locally as Norfolk's surfing hot spot - lessons and equipment hire can be booked at Glide Surf School. Cromer Museum tells of the town's maritime history and a fun, family day out at Amazona Zoo is a must. Cromer Pier has a Pavillion Theatre, the only of its kind in the country, which stages traditional variety shows and live music events. With so many carnivals, markets and festivals, there is always something entertaining going on in and around Cromer. Nearby Overstrand is a pretty, coastal village just two miles south of the larger neighbouring, Cromer. During the Victorian era it was known as 'the village of millionaires', and was a particular favourite holiday destination for Sir Winston Churchill. Still retaining old fashioned seaside charm, this sleepy village has not changed too much. A busy Cliff Top Café is popular with locals and visitors. Traverse a walk along the sandy beach or coastal path to Cromer, then reward yourself with a drink at the beachside Rocket House Cafe, while you watch the fisherman come and go with the tide. A five mile coastal walk in the other direction will leads to the pretty seaside village of Mundesley. Don't forget to visit the acclaimed No.1 Cromer, a fish 'n' chip restaurant owned by the acclaimed celebrity chef, Galton Blackiston. Head to nearby Sheringham and dine at Rocky Bottoms where you can enjoy some of the best seafood to a backdrop of clifftop sea views. Less than...
