8 The Lake is a newly renovated top-floor apartment set within a Victorian Mansion House and gardens on the shores of Lake Windermere. ​With woodland and parkland views from every window, this fully refurbished apartment, situated at the rear of the mansion house, comprises one bedroom for two adults. It is light and bright with an open plan living/kitchen and a modern bathroom making this property a great bolt hole for an adventure getaway or romantic break. Positioned on the southeastern shore of Windermere, the Lake Cruises, Lakeside, The Aquarium of The Lakes, and The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are less than a mile away. You can sail from Lakeside to Bowness on Windermere, Brockhole and Ambleside. Hawkshead and the popular Grizedale forest are both around 10 minutes in the car. The apartment also has shared use of the mansion’s extensive, well-tended gardens. On sunny days, head outside and soak up the views across the lawns; a perfect place for a picnic with a morning coffee, G&T or a bottle of wine or go for a dip in the Lake if you are brave enough

Ideally situated for exploring the Lake District, in particular, the old market town of Ulverston and lots of other Lake District villages like Windermere, Coniston, and Hawkshead all only a short drive away, where you can take in all the stunning scenery with local shops and pubs/cafes to explore and while away the hours. Other things you may like to do: Beatrix Potters house, a quirky building in the heart of Hawkshead that displays original watercolours and work by the famous writer and illustrator of Peter Rabbit and friends, Dalton wildlife animal park, Grisdale Forest, Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, you don't have to be into meditation to visit this beautiful site, the temple buildings are surrounded by miles of woodland with mapped walking nature trails that take you through forests. The apartment really is ideally situated to make the most of what the South Lakes has to offer.
