Faversham is a charming market town in the heart of Kent. With many interesting places to see and things to do, this lovely town offers visitors the chance to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, or dine out, and also boasts the oldest brewery in Britain dating back to 1698. It was due to the brewery that "hop picking" became the family holiday for many living in London, right up until the 1950s. During the summer, thousands of people would descend on the fields around Faversham, set up camp and spend the days "hop picking", thus making this one of the best places to enjoy a pint or two! Faversham is proud of its history, was named in the Domesday Book and, with its cobbled streets and medieval houses, tiny quaint pubs and many listed buildings, this town enjoys remembering its fascinating history. For those looking to experience the outdoor life, Faversham has plenty to keep you entertained, why not take a swim in one of the year-round swimming pools?
