Le Cannet is an important commune of the Alpes-Maritimes in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It is located only two kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, bordering Cannes and Vallauris. Nicknamed the Madeira of France, it offers a beautiful panorama of the Lerins Islands. Occupied since Roman times, the city of Le Cannet developed in the 15th century with the settlement of families from Italy at the request of the monks of Lérins. It gained its independence from Cannes and Mougins in 1774, by decree of Louis XVI, which allowed its economic development from the following century. The town of Le Cannet is very popular with tourists because of its geographical location and its weather, but it is also appreciated for its rich architectural and historical heritage, which attracts many tourists during the summer months.
