We have a newly renovated self catering Gite that was formally one of two traditional Poitou Charente style stone built farm cottages but has been comfortably modernised whilst keeping many of the original features including oak floor boards, stairs and exposed beams. The Gite has a living/dining room area with a kitchenette on the ground floor. Two bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. It also has a private outside covered patio/barbecue area as well as the large garden shared with ourselves that backs onto our small holding with pigs, chickens and sheep. A laundry room is available for guests to use with a washing machine and a washing line out the front to hang your things to dry. We provide a welcome pack of basic essentials to get you started. We also provide all bedding, towels and tea towels. Our holiday cottage can accommodate up to seven people over two bedrooms. The cottage comprises of 2 sets of bunks (one has a double bed on the bottom) in one room and a double bed in the master bedroom. Baby equipment such as a cot or highchair is available on request. The Gite also benefits from Wi-Fi.

Having holidayed in France for several years we decided it was for us and took the plunge. We have been living in France since January 2016, our children attend the local schools and we have thrown ourselves into French life. I was formally a retail manager and retrained to become a biologist my wife has had her share of work but has of recent years been a full time mum.

We live in a small hamlet a short cycle from the nearest village of St. Macoux where you will find a base de loisirs, which includes a swimming lake complete with lifeguard and waterslide, a restaurant, children's play area, picnic area and nature walks. A short trip in the car will get you to the local supermarkets and the market towns of Civray, Ruffec or Sauzé-Vaussais. Further afield we have access to Zoos, Châteaux, big cities, theme parks, natural parks go karting, golf, caves.... and the list goes on. We are on the border of the Vienne, Deux Serves and the Charente so benefit from being within reach of endless attractions, and with the N10 not too far the journeys are generally trouble free.
