The apartment has been fully renovated as well as the building for a maximum of comfort. All furnitures are brand new. The building has only 3 floors and is among the oldest in town. You will discover the exceptional staircase which is very unusual for the PANIER. The apartment has one separate bedroom with a separate bathroom. You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay in Marseille. Last but not least the appartment has AC which is neessary in the summer !! I will be glad to share with you a very nice guide with all good addresses and tips
I love Marseille !! And most particularly the Panier. I have been living in Montmartre in Paris for 30 years and I now live in the Panier. I found the same atmosphere of a village where neighborgs are friends ! I enjoy so much hiking in the beautiful Calanques and kite surfing and simply walking on the Corniche to Malmousque, Pointe Rouge, Saint Victor, Endoume and the Goudes
Immerse yourself in the heart of the oldest district of Marseille. To enjoy this mythical district, the best way is to stroll until you get lost in the narrow streets. The conviviality and the soft atmosphere which reign there are pleasant. Between small café terraces, colorful street-art facades, and small designer boutiques, you won't know where to turn: it's a real open-air museum! If you need good physical shape to go up and down the stairs, the effort will be rewarded by the Mediterranean spontaneity of the inhabitants of this popular district, and the breathtaking view of the big Blue. When it comes to visiting Marseille, Le Panier is a must. 600 years before Christ, Massalia was born in place of the current Panier. If the Greeks chose this place, it was for its privileged position in height and close to the sea. They then settled near the Butte St Laurent, the Greek city then developed in the direction of the Butte des Moulins. the Place de Lenche, was the Agora and on the Butte des Moulins the acropolis dedicated to Athena. In the Middle Ages, the city continues to develop, but this time on the other side of the Port.
