It's not a surprise that the name of our apartment is "Chez Bea" what means " At Home by Bea" For more than 12 years it was our home when we came to France. For this reason the look is very personal and feels like home. Chez Bea and Chez Dominique are situated in the same bulding ( 1° floor and 2°floor) so you can rent both appartments if you like to come with family or friends.
For 23 years, we (Dominique Lampaert and Bea Meyns) ran a restaurant in Belgium. At the end of August 2013 we closed its doors. No, not because we were tired of it, but because we longed for an other life and a new challenge. We are wine lovers with a soft spot for the Burgundy region, that is why we visited Chablis for the first time in 1999. Immediately we lost our heart to this charming place and not much later we bought a little house in the city centre. The last 15 years we have gradually discovered the region and its fantastic wines. That is how the idea grew to start something new here. It came to our attention that tourists often just make a quick stop in this beautiful region, even though there is a lot to see if you know where to look for it. What we want, is for our guests to discover the region during a pleasant, relaxing trip.
Chablis is situated in the north of Burgundy and is often referred to as “The Golden Gate to Burgundy”. This beautiful little town dates back to the middle ages and is home to a prestigious vineyard with a rich past. The monks of Saint Martin from Tours regrouped in Chablis after the invasion of the Vikings and were the first to cultivate wine here. Presumably «Les Lys» was the first vineyard to be planted in Chablis. The town of Chablis is surrounded by 19 wine villages that all produce the wine of the same name. According to the route you choose, our gps will guide you along some of these villages and wine regions. Through points of interest on the gps you will be able to find additional info in a little roadbook.
