In an idyllic rural setting with stunning views of open countryside, either lazing by the pool, sat on the terrace or sat outside the gite. With a farm cottage atmosphere of stone walls, panelling and exposed beams Chalet de Rose (Rose Cottage) is open plan with a seating area and fitted kitchen with dining table. The kitchen has a full gas cooker/oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle etc. The lounge area has a country style suite, and occasional tables and benefits from a 32” flat screen TV with English Freesat, French digital channels and a DVD/Blue Ray player. Bedroom one has a huge Superking bed with large wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside units. Bedroom two has 2 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside unit. The shower-room has a double sized shower. There are various power sockets for phone/laptop chargers and WiFi /internet that extends across the property. Books, DVDs and board games are available. Pool aids/toys also included for splashing around in the pool which is 8m x 4m and has a flat bottom at 1.5m ideal for pool games.
Martin & Roberta, both retired from the UK and living the dream in France (we hope!) After purchasing the property in 2008 and moving permanently in Jan 2015 we have been renovating our own accommodation and more recently converting old stables into the two bed gite we have now. We have grown up children living in Australia and the UK and some roots back to Eire as well as the UK.
Our very pretty local village is 3.5km away and ideally reached by car. In the village there is a church, a well stocked shop and a friendly bar with menu and a terrace with pleasant garden views. In the local towns and villages throughout the year there are many organised events from music evenings, quiz nights, pool competitions, antiques fairs, local produce shows and even motor-cycle endurance trials. There are also other bars and restaurants, cash machine, bakeries, butcher and post office. There are many rivers and lakes in the area including several with beach facilities for youngsters and activities for all ages including swimming, fishing, canoeing, pedalos etc as well as waterside bars and restaurants. Some of these are within 15 minutes drive and the busy watersports resort at Eguzon around 30 minutes away, well worth a day trip. Also nearby is a local Sensas’Parc with has cable skiing and a full sized BMX track. This area is well suited for fishing, canoeing , cycling and sightseeing the various castles and chateaus as well as some of the beautiful medieval towns and pretty villages. There are organised walking routes around most of the villages and towns.
