FAQs about hotels in Valencia

A Walk Through History

As the city that brought paella to the world, Valencia is a culinary delight. Sipping fresh, local orange juice, whilst enjoying tasty tapas in a pavement café, is not to be missed.

Wandering this relaxed city is like taking a walk through history. From the Roman remains in the archaeological museum to the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, the architecture ranges from the dramatic to the sublime. A mix of styles from the outside, medieval Valencia Cathedral comes into its own inside. The gilt carvings and vibrantly-painted dome are a sight to behold.

The greatest triumph of city planning is the Turia River Park. Created on the bed of a redirected river, it provides much-needed shade in a city with an impressive sunshine record. Of course, you can always cool down on the fantastic beaches, lapped by warm Mediterranean waters.

Former hosts of the European Grand Prix, Valencians take their sport seriously and so they should. Try to take in a match at the 75000-seater Valencia FC stadium to experience the electric atmosphere.

As Spain’s 3rd largest city, Valencia has wild nightlife, so if that’s your cup of tea, city centre hostels are a great choice. Alternatively, Booking.com also offers guest houses, central apartments and even hotels near Valencia Airport.

Lovely place great activities and surroundings.

Lovely place great activities and surroundings. I ate at the Nero hotel which was very good . The only bad experience I had was at the Restaurant Novomar on the promenade. The waiter tricked me by chargin g me twice once with card which he said didn't work and then by cash. I contacted the property but got no reply.

It's a cute studio, ideal for a couple, it's in the midst of residential apartments, hence the restaurants or the bus stop is a good 10-15 minutes walk. Digital Security is good, apartment looks new and refurbished the gadgets are new. We enjoyed the stay.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful, the restaurant at the hotel was good the breakfast was good and you could ask for freshly cooked. The surrounding restaurants were also very good and the beach was lovely although not hot enough in Feb to sit on. Would definitely recommend this hotel and area. I was there on a Spanish language course so half the weekday mornings in class.Afternoons and weekends free. Buildings in Valencia are beautiful .The museums themselves let alone the content of the exhibitions are lovely buildings and I think there is something for everyone. On a previous trip ,the zoo was fabulous for all ages and the animals are well looked after . The indoor market is wonderful and there are street markets in the Town hall square and others at the weekends by the indoor market.I didn’t make it to the beach. Definitely the place for paella and some lovely Spanish food.Shops galore too.

Valencia is a beautiful human scale city.

Valencia is a beautiful human scale city. Very friendly and relaxing. We stayed in April and there were short queues for the cathedral but everything else was easy and quick to get into. We had 5 days there and still could have stayed longer to venture out to the biopark or other regions of the city. I recommend staying in or close to the old city so most of what you want is walkable. Regular buses take you around, including to the beach. Taxis are constantly on the high streets which can be flagged down and are reasonably priced.

The city was easy to navigate on foot and the architecture was beautiful. it is an extremely clean city with plenty to see and do. The cycle paths are wonderful and there are plenty of green open spaces. The Bioparc was a highlight and so were the modern museums and aquarium. Albufera is just a 40 minute bus ride away and well worth doing. We ate at fabulous restaurants during our week long stay in Valencia. Our favourite was Pelayo Gastro Trinquet and also La Calita both of which are easily found on Google. They were recommended by the hotel staff and were top notch. Value for money beer and sandwich establishment 100 Montaditos is great for lunch right on Placa de la Reina square where there are always plenty of entertainers. On the other side of the square is a fantastic tapas establishment - Taberna Vintara. My first Paella is a cookery school is where we spent 4 hours learning how to make the perfect Valencian paella. A visit to a local market was included and the whole experience was wonderful and definitely something to try if you love food. We hired bikes for one day and cycled from the Bioparc to the beach where we had lunch. There are no hills and well defined bike paths so it is safe and extremely enjoyable. Enjoy your time in Valencia

Hotel Kramer thought of everything including a toothbrush. They had an on-site restaurant and the best breakfast we’ve had in Spain. The staff were friendly, and met requests within seconds including printing train tickets, and arranging an early morning cab. The staff spoke excellent English which was welcome( 3 months of Duo Lingo has its limits). The location was within walking distance of the Old City and all the sights we wanted to see
