Company information

I am a London born Cambridge history graduate who then became a contemporary dancer and choreographer. Injury changed my course again and I came to Andalucia in 2003 to paint portraits and also to renovate old buildings We soon started a family and bought an abandoned collection of farmhouses that became our home and my first letting project. We first saw Calle Torrejones 19 in 2017. It took a year to buy, a year more to get permission to renovate and then we opened in August 2019. We are so glad to be open again after the pandemic . Property information

The property is an 18 th century house built by the famous bullfighter Pedro Romero who oversaw the construction of the Ronda bullring. We renovated it in 2019 with the intention of preserving its original features. I also found tiles from a nearby convent and up cycled any furniture and the religious prints left in the building .I chose esparto lamps from Jaén and collected dried flowers on my walks. While providing modern comforts I hope also to offer a timeless Andalusian quality and a restful place to stay. It has been both a home to wealthy landowners and farmers too. The upstairs floor still has the ham hooks and metal beams . The front apartment was once the local schoolroom. Latterly it was the home of Catalina one of nine children growing up here. Her family photos are in the front apartment . It is now divided into 5 apartments .

Neighbourhood information

The barrio San Francisco is my favourite area of Ronda. It is right by the city walls and the quintessential Spanish plaza and yet you can also walk straight into the beautiful hills. The restaurants in the square are wonderful and just behind the house there is the renowned bakery Panaderia Alba and the delicatessen Trinidad. Not forgetting the family grocer and fruit and vegetable shop a little beyond the bakery . Do try Cevezeria El Bandolero, Almocabar, El Convento, and El Zucio while you are staying here. Further into town I recommend Tragata and Tropicana. The baños Árabes and palacio Mondragón are essential visits . The cathedral square with classic arched town hall and shady central garden. The rooftop bar of the Catalonia for views into the bullring and of the stunning mountain range. Or perhaps El Morabito for views into the gorge . In the tajo the albergue molino offers light food and drinks after you have clambered the river in chase of it’s waterfalls and rock pools. Cycle Ronda rent bicycles , organize routes and even guides . LA organic offer olive tours.
