Company information

The original farm was established in the early 1900's when the property was split from the Suure Kõpu Manor lands. Raistiko Talu as it is now, was built by Ülo Soots, who returned to his homeland, Estonia from Canada in the early 1990's. It is now owned by his children and I have the pleasure of running it. We have lovingly fixed it up and opened it up for guests in the fall of 2021. I grew up in Canada, love nature and camping and am thoroughly enjoying living in the forest. We have plenty of wildlife- birds, deer, foxes, moose, lynx, bears, as well as insects and other critters. Our friendly golden retriver lives on the property, she enjoys vists from other friendly dogs, as well as lots of petting. She has free run of the property. Property information

A rustic farm in the middle of the forests of Viljandi County, perfect for smaller or larger groups. Our rustic sauna cabin has a bedroom upstairs with the sauna and shower facilities downstairs. The balcony with seating upstairs in front of the bedroom is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine before heading in for the night. The terrace in front of the sauna has a view of the lake features a sitting area as well as a dining table for 2. There is another dining table behind the sauna adjacent to the grilling area. There is a fridge for your use as well as some glasses, mugs, a hotwater kettle, tea/coffee. The shared kitchen is located a short walk away. A gas BBQ is located on the main house terrace. We also have a small charcol grill that we can lend you. Please bring your own charcol. The sauna building is exclusively for your use during your stay, however some other guests may wish to use the sauna dock to go swimming. Price includes a sauna session of up to 4 hours. Check out our other listings. Outdoor composting toilet in the yard(shared), We can help with cooking meals if needed (needs pre-booking). Check out our Hiis (Holy Grove) located in the original farmstead yard. Please be aware that there is a lake on the property and children must be supervised by responsible adults at all times.

Neighbourhood information

Raistiko is located in Southern Estonia, just a two hour drive from Tallinn. It's location makes it a great base for day trips to Pärnu, Otepää, Tartu. Viljandi, with many restaurants, galleries, museums and a theatre is just a 15 min car drive away. Soomaa National Park is also a short drive away- experience it's unique "fifth season", hike in the bog, visit the information centre or go canoeing.
