I am a 41 year old events/tv producer who got tired of the city noise, the pollution and the traffic and decided to move out here and start this business. I've lived in many places over the last 20 years, London, New York, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Quito and so on. I love travelling, music, films, cooking and working in the veggie garden.

Pacheco farmhouse offers guests a comfortable and warm atmosphere in the heart of the stunning and remote Imbabura Unesco Geopark. Our kitchen provides home cooked, nutritious and tasty meals so you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the Intag Valley. Our farmhouse has been fully renovated with locally sourced wood and bamboo. It's original wooden furniture has been repurposed and reused giving it a comfortable, shabby-chic look. The roar of the river and the cosy setting make this a great place to curl up with a book and relax. All our rooms are furnished simply but comfortably and include an suite bathrooms. Stay in one of our charming cabins for a special experience. The Intag Cloud Forest has some of the most diverse animal and plant life on the planet, including orchids found nowhere else in earth! Many species of hummingbird can be seen from the property. We want to have a positive impact on our amazing ecosystem so we source all our organic produce locally and make our breads, jams and dairy products from scratch. Our kitchen waste becomes compost for the garden, helping to fertilize the soil and nurturing our birds and butterflies.

We are located in the Intag Cloud Forest, right next to the Intag river and close to the bustling towns of Otavalo and Cotacachi. With lush hills, mountains, lakes and waterfalls all within walking distance, there is more than enough to keep you occupied in our natural haven. Visit pre-Incan ruins, hike to natural wonders, or visit a coffee farm. Other activities like bird watching, canopying, fishing or visiting the local hot baths are available. Although Pacheco sits in a beautiful and remote part of the valley, the charming town of Apuela is just 3 miles away and can be reached by car or on foot. Cotacachi and Otavalo (both up-and-coming tourist destinations) are reached by bus, and 4 stop directly outside Pacheco's front door every day. Since the road was refurbished a few years ago transport to the local towns has become far more convenient.
