The house is essentially a timbered house and was build in 1864 as a large farm house, owned by richer farmers. It contained the main house, a storage house and stables. Around 1900, a yellow brick façade was build all around the house. During GDR times, the storage house was destroyed and the main house was used by the local school. The beaver tail roof was replaced with a roof with grey concrete tiles, which made the house look bleak and lifeless. A second leve was added and this level became the home for two families. Downstairs, some class rooms and some rooms for the teacher and his family l were added. After the German Reunification in 1989, the church used some rooms for its services and shortly, but not long after afterwards the house was sadly abandoned. The current owners took it over in April 2016 and started a complete restoration, including a new roof (May 2016 till November 2018). During the restoration, great care was given in keeping all typical features of the house,from Imperial to GDR times.

There are two restaurants, but for high dining you need to visit the capital of ancient Pommerania,, Stettin which is now a vibrant city with great sides, festivals and lovely restaurants. This elegant Polish city is about 45 minutes driving through the woods. Maybe you want to stop at the castle of Stolec and have a look around. By boat you can cross to the Polish side and the village of New Warp. A nice Botanic Garden is nearby Christansberg and a art exhibitions one finds Luckow. In Ueckermuende, the biggest German city in the area, one find all shops and even a zoo. On the German-Polish Border one finds a rather cost effective market. Those who like biking will find plenty of bike lanes. In an hour one reaches the pretty village of Rieth with its beach, its café and castle. A nice village pub is to be found at Ahlbeck. In Altwarp , a village shop caters and a fish shop cater for your daily needs.
