STAY in our RANCHERIAS, ancestral heritage of our Wayuu indigenous community, rest on hammocks woven by our hands in the heart of the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. HIKING: Wetland ecosystems made up of coastal lagoons, mangroves and dry vegetation next to the sea. BIRD WATCHING: Take your time for the sound of silence and contemplate what you don't see because of the noise but is at your fingertips. NAVIGATION: We go to the sea or the lagoons in our Kayukos, explore its depths with SNORKEL.
WE ARE Wayuu Indigenous Community, this is our first experience. We are starting, SUPPORT US! We seek a direct dialogue with cultures, so that our community prospers and we can preserve our natural and traditional habitat.
The Los Flamencos Flora and Fauna Sanctuary comprises seven thousand hectares with representative wetland ecosystems made up of coastal lagoons, mangroves and dry vegetation (xerophytic and subxerophytic), of which, the mangrove and the mosaic of dry vegetation constitute the main habitat of species of native fauna and flora, ecosystems that provide environmental goods and services to the ethnic communities that inhabit the territory.
