Picturesque School House Retreat is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Grey County and surrounded by 2.75 acres of secluded grounds. Free WiFi is available throughout the house. This self-catering holiday home is almost 100 years old and retains much of its original charm. The old school room is now the living and dining area, and features the original black chalk boards. The rest of the house is furnished with soothing interior decor and boasts impressive views of the surrounding landscape. The house offers a well-equipped, country-style kitchen as well as an outdoor propane barbecue with covered seating area. Towels, bed linens and basic toiletries are provided at no additional cost. The popular towns of Meaford and Thornbury are less than 15 minutes' drive away. The shops, bars and restaurants of Blue Mountains Village can be found within 30 km.

... it's the laid back atmosphere, where the time stops ... and family and friends gather together. <p> Almost a Century-Old Minnie Hill School House is nestled on Rolling Hills of Grey County on the outskirts of small towns of Meaford & Thornbury. <p> Built in 1917 the School House with its original Bell Tower welcomed many kids up to mid-1970. Back then, boys and girls entered school separately through 2 entrances, one from South side, second one from North. Today, both entrances make interior space still accessible from outdoors. <p> Its original "School Room" houses today's Spacious Living & Dining Rooms where original black chalk boards exhibit colourful creations by kids and adults alike. Soothing interior décor relaxes the mind and offers pristine landscape views all-year-round. <p> Fully equipped Country-Style Kitchen and outdoor propane barbecue allow preparing yummy family feasts. Rustic Cabana Seating overlooking 2.75 acres of luscious greens provides a perfect backdrop for outdoor entertainment and tranquillity. Enjoy a bonfire and star gazing at night ... you might see a shooting star.

School House is nestled in the "god's country" and surrounded by stunning custom built estates, farms, and everything in between. It's a short drive to local shopping, dining & outdoor sport activities ... 13.1 km to Thornbury, 8 km to Meaford, 33 km to Blue Mountains Village (skiing, dining, Scandinave Spa & many other tourist attractions).
