Holman's Heritage Suites is one of the most significant heritage buildings in PEI. The house was orginally built in 1954 as a parochial house for the Roman Catholic Church. AIn 1870, this parochial house became the core component of the Holman Homestead. It was purchased by an up and coming merchant in Summerside, Robert Tinson Holman. Over the coming years (1870 to 1890) Mr. Holman expanded the homestead vastly, its peak capacity being 14 individuals including Mr. Holman's wife, mother in law, children, and servants. Robert Tinson Holman was known as PEI's merchant prince and owned nearly all of Summerside's waterfront. The Holman Homestead remained in the Holman family until the early 1970s. It was used for various business and community purposes until it's most recent purpose; Holman's Ice Cream Parlour and Heritage Suites. The property was completely renovated between 2016 and 2018. On the property grounds is located one of the oldest, if not the oldest, continually maintained Victorian gardens in North America. These gardens were designed and started by Ellen Holman in 1870.

We are a family run and operated business. Our familiy moved to PEI in 2012 and absolutely love this beautiful island and the wonderful people who live here. My wife and I have 5 children who all help run Holman's Ice Cream Parlour and Heritage Suites in some manner. They are growing now and between university, missions, and career aspirations, they are not always on site. As a family, our first career was in the Canadian Airforce. After 20 years moving coast to coast in Canada, US, and Europe, we decided to operate a B&B in Summerside. After doing that for about 4 years, we decided to open an ice cream parlour. The ice cream parlour has grown in popularity and has taken so much of our time, we decided to sell the B&B. We now offer beautiful suites on the upper level of the parlour. What a great way to spend a PEI vacation!

Summerside is a beautiful thriving community on the souther coast of PEI. Holman's Heritage Suites is located in the historic downtown core and is surrounded by numerous historic homes and parks. We are within steps of the waterfront and many great restaurants and attractions.
