Fairmont Royal York Hotel, hotel in Toronto

Boasting a skylit indoor pool and 3 on-site dining options, this hotel is located across the street from Union Station.

The inside of the hotel is beautiful. It felt like being transported in time. The staff was so friendly. The hotel room itself was tinier than what we are used to, but the view was lovely. The coffee and tea were OK, but it would’ve been nice to have coffee that had caffeine as everything was decaf. We used the pool a couple of times and the kids really really enjoyed it.

Everything on your doorstep, subway very easy to manage, people soooo friendly. One negative I wouldn't visit niagra falls again very tacky with high prices, train service the one in morning next service nine thirty at night, so really got ripped off 👍. Found a very nasty knife/blade at niagra train station. Younge street the best.

Overall, a pleasant stay. Way too much construction, however. Local sites. such as the Hockey Hall of Fame, Rogers Center, Ripley's Aquarium, CN Tower & Art Gallery of Ontario all places well worth going to with most being in walking distance of each other. The Bottom Line Restuarant was our Lunch time venue, service was great. The 360 Restuarant at the CN Tower was our dinner venue. Such an amazing experience. If you drive to the downtown & waterfront areas, be sure to add extra time as construction is everywhere.

Great hotel stay. Very clean and spacious rooms. I booked at the historic suites and my room was so quiet and relaxing. They also have a very nice café (Daily Ritual) that offers breakfast and lunch. Also, the hotel is in a prime location in downtown Toronto, just a few minutes walk from Brookfield Place. I also loved the contactless customer service as they text you for all available offers and check if you need any assistance and their response time is very fast. Great quality hotel and service.

We spent one night in this unusual small hotel in a beautiful Cabbagetown house. Our room had its own bathroom, others seem to have shared baths. There's a communal kitchen on the ground floor. There's on-site parking and the surrounding area has everything you'll need, including groceries, restaurants, and some very charming bars. The room was clean and staff were friendly. The stay was very budget friendly while still within reasonable walking distance of downtown Toronto.

The location is excellent. In fact, its being located in downtown Toronto is the hotel's main advantage. It is easy to access and many other sites are within walking distance. It is also very close to several subway stations, which is great. The staff were pleasant enough, although usually overwhelmed by the flow of customers. It was very nice that a ventilator was provided when the city was hit by a heatwave.

Location was great - could walk everywhere in Downtown Toronto, lots of restaurants available in the area, and very accessible coming from the airport (metro station a few meters away). The hotel itself is comfortable, with spacious rooms, clean, with a good size pool and a gym available from early morning to late at night. The bed, although way too soft for me, was actually comfortable.

On our first visit to Canada, even though we had family spotted around we wanted to explore Toronto by our own means. My children watch a tv show "The Next Step" where we see the Sonesta Hotel at the start and when we booked it they were ecstatic. The location is so central and we were able to do trips via subway and walking distance to museums and shops.

The location is great, close to downtown Toronto - walking distance to the main areas. The size and facilities are also good, there is really one room and one side room (open) with another sofa bed that is convenient. The view is nice. Overall, it's a good alternative to the pricier hotels in the neighborhood. The parking spot is also very convenient.

This hotel is near airport. We booked this hotel twice (as we arrived toronto and we left toronto). There is a shuttle bus from airport to hotel every 30min. The beds are very big & comfortable. From airport there is train to union station (takes about 30min.) This time we had a room on 13th floor & we had a very nice view to see the airport.

This hotel was SUPER expensive. Yes, I know it's in downtown Toronto. Still ... The bathroom was super small; you had to leave it to change your mind. A new tax was added to our bill without our being informed. When I phoned about this, the man who answered was most unhelpful. However, a week later I got an email explaining the matter.

This is not a boutique hotel - it is more akin to a youth hostel; rough around the edges, limited/poor amenities, poor construction, and dated/in need of renovation. It is not cheap either - definitely not worth the cost of the room - I've stayed in several in downtown Toronto recently and this is not a good option.
