Neighbourhood information

We are situated in what is known to be the best residential area of Bruges, Christus Koning (Christ King). While the distance to the central square is about 15 minutes walking, there is no trouble what so ever with noisy streets or noisy people in the streets. In this part it is calm and safe during day and night. You can admire the villa architecture from the first half of the 20th century. The characteristic interbellum architecture on the main axis of this neigborhood and around the area of the local church which is built up in neo-romanesque style, also worthy of a visit. The quarter is fringed with the channel Bruges Ostend where you can make a stroll along the banks of the stream, enjoying the sight of boats passing by, and taking a seat to witness the movement of the hyper modern new bridge. On the north there is the picturesque little 'Bourgondisch vaartje' (stream of Burgundy) which is flanked by impressieve ancient trees. At the end of this stream is the 'Visart park' with the impressive early 20th century upper class house architecture, a relaxing landscaping area, a childrens playground where they'll find it hard to leave, and even a mini traffic park for the childres to enjoy learning traffic without cars. In summer there are festivities and pop up bars. This park is inviting to relax and sun bathe during the hottest part of the afternoon. Do you like some variety in your urban visit? Just a few minutes down the stream direction Ostend there is a beautiful area with picturesque typical landscapes and a part covered in forest. Here you will doscover the castle 'Norenburg' hiding between the ancient trees that surround it.
