This house was built in 1975. It was made by a grandfather Karamatic family who was a stonemason, which has been a traditional skill in Herzegovina for centuries. The house has 4 bedrooms, modernly equipped. Around the house there are exhibition examples of stonemason's tools and handicrafts. Your host Pero (grandson) has continued the family tradition. Ask for a stonemason's workshop and design your own authentic souvenir from Herzegovina!
The host will bring you the keys, but whatever is of interest to you, he is always available for local tips.
Posušje also has its natural beauties, such as: the high mountain beauty Čvrsnica (2,228 m above sea level) with its impressive slopes and endemics, among which stands out Hendel-Mezetti's carnation family, Blidinjsko Lake (1,200 m above sea level), Masna Luka with more clear mountain springs and beautiful fir and pine forests, the accumulation Tribistovo, Brina - an interesting karst and until recently inaccessible to man canyon Ričine - and the source of Žukovica in Zagorje. The area around Lake Blidinje is part of the Nature Park. In addition, this area is located in the hinterland of the Adriatic Sea and has a typical mountainous area around Lake Blidinje with fascinating mountain slopes and rich hunting grounds. Therefore, we rightly hope that Posušje will be included in tourist brochures in the near future.
