We know that as soon as you arrive, you'll be released of all the daily pressures of work demands/busy city life. You'll feel an instant sense of relief when you walk out on the balcony, smell the fresh country air and hear the array of birds singing. If the winds blowing in the right direction, you'll hear the waves crashing on the shoreline a few short kms away. This is what makes our beach house so special. Perched up high and overlooking the front deck is a vast open space including a lovely grassy paddock and a tree lined valley. Sometimes you'll see the horses grazing across the road. Beyond this vista, you are drawn to the beautiful blue ocean and the occasional ship/cruise liner will catch your eye.
My husband Richard and I have owned Jan Juc Ocean Views since 2012 and have been sharing it was guests both within Australia and internationally for several years. We want to make sure everyone feels at home when they arrive. We have stylised the property with comfort and convenience in mind. We wanted to make sure every room catered to everyones needs and offer the same experience we enjoy when visiting. This includes the downstairs area being self contained for a family of four. Downstairs offers two bedrooms and a bathroom/laundry. The large bedroom has a queen bed, lounge suite and television. This room is perfect for parents or as a teenagers retreat. With extended family staying, this down stairs space has been our saving grace as it offers privacy for all when needed.
A 10 minute walk will get you to a football oval for the dogs (and kids ) to run and a fully equipped park and skate board facilities and tennis courts in close proximity. An extra 5 min walk will get you to the ocean (perfect for cliff top walks), milk bar, fish & chip shop, Swell Cafe and the Beach Hotel. Just across the road is the beautiful Jan Juc surf beach. It will take a 2 min drive by car to get to this beach and 5 mins to get to Torquay’s Cosy Corner beach. If you're heading into Torquay, it will take 5 mins by car. The RACV Resort and Spa is even closer and offers many activities including golf, full buffet breakfast at 'One' restaurant, which overlooks the golf course and ocean. The restaurant is great for dinner, which we enjoy going to and highly recommend. The great thing about Jan Juc is that you're close to bustling Torquay but also a few kilometres away to still fexperience a quiet country escape.
