I am a mother , grandmother, wife and teacher. My husbasnd and I are not yet retired however hopefully it is not too far away. We live in a beautiful regional city with many attractions which make us feel like we are the luckiest people on the planet. I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and Cairns is the perfect spot (most of the year) to indulge in fine dining and fresh food all year long. I love to gather with friends and family to share stories and make new ones. We are mad about travelling and most recently have been to Japan and were guests in several AirB&B homes. On our next adventure I am off to Florence and have enrolled in an Italian Language school for 4 weeks. On completion of my studies Peter will join me for 2 weeks on the coast. Although I don't live in the house I am available to offer help and give you tips on how to best see this beautiful part of the our country. You are only a short walk from the Reef Terminal, local buses and Tour bus departure points. I can greet you upon arrival or you may self check in via the keysafe located in the carport.

Parramatta Park is one of the oldest suburbs in Cairns. There are 2 schools close by and there may be a little more traffic around 8am and 3 pm on week days. We often hear the children chatting as the walk to and from school. We drive on the left side of the road so BE VERY CAREFUL crossing the streets. The Cairns Central Shopping Centre is only 3 minutes walk. There is public transport available from there. If you are driving many of the parking spaces in the city centre are metered by ticket machines. There is really no need for your own car if you stay at our house. you can plan your trip so that only the days you need a car to do day trips to the Atherton Tablelands or Port Douglas. The days you go on those Reef and rainforest tours car rental is wasted because our place is close to all pick up point for tours. There is usually plenty of parking in the street.
