The House of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, within the historic building of the Port Wine Cellars of Sandeman. With scenic Porto and Douro River views, this riverfront property also provides guests with a restaurant. This is the best hostel i have been to. And i have done two interrail trips around Europe, probably visiting at least 30+ hostels. The location is wonderful, everybody in the staff is super nice, they have all the things you need at a good backpacker hostel, great breakfast and great dinners at affordable prices.

Awsome staff! The place is quite centrally located, yet quiet. 500 m to the peacock park. Highly recommended.

Apart from her creating a fantastic atmosphere in OLOPO, the place itself is absolutely great - exceeded my expectations. The room I was staying in was very spacious and stylish, very clean, very comfortable bed, everything was just perfect. The common area, bathrooms and kitchen are very clean and nice too. Also there is a cold water available for guests, which is great.

The host was super sweet and made us feel very welcome. The house is homely. We had a pastel de nata waiting for us in our room.
