All units in the hostel are fitted with a flat-screen TV. With a private bathroom equipped with a shower, rooms at Rata Lodge Accommodation also provide guests with free WiFi, while selected rooms have a mountain view. At the accommodation every room is equipped with bed linen and towels. The bedroom was so cozy with extra blankets, humidifier and heaters. Very homey.

You can choose to stay in a lively dorm room or in the comfort of a private room. Bed linen is provided for all rooms. The shared bathroom facilities offer contemporary fittings and are equipped with hair dryers. Loved that we had a private deck off our room.

Ivorytowers Accommodation is situated opposite Westland National Park rainforest and mountains, just a 4-minute walk from Fox Glacier Village. Guests can enjoy a hot tub surrounded by native bush land, a sauna and free WiFi. Good location near Glacier, friendly stuff, very cosy, clean, big fully kitchen area, room for yoga, jacuzzi on air, small sauna. We book private double room with bathroom - it’s great ! Room was pretty nice, clean, with balcony with table and chairs with Mountain View 🔥 And own kitchen with lounge area for 3 rooms. I definitely recommend this place !

Glow Worm Accommodation is located in the center of Franz Josef and offers a range of shared dormitory rooms and private en suite rooms. Free unlimited WiFi is included.

All rooms include free breakfast in the morning and a free vegetable soup in the evening as well as BBQ facilities and free use of the spa pool. What an amazing hostel! Very nice staff, very clean rooms. They even offer free soup very night, have free popcorn and a hot-pot. Shared rooms were great and everything was there you might need.

Guests can choose between ‘pod’ dormitory rooms or private rooms with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. Most rooms also have a TV. The pods feature a privacy curtain, a power point and a USB port. Chris, the owner, is a legend. He is running the place like a champ, from dusk till dawn, maintaining good humor and kindness in the process. The place is comfortable and of much better standard that other backpacker places we have visited before.

The Undertakers Backpackers is located in Kumara, 20 km from Hokitika and 20 km from Greymouth.

You can play darts at this hostel, and the area is popular for cycling. Kumara Store and Cafe is a 2-minute walk from The Undertakers Backpackers. We loved the cottage - 5 of us stayed there and it was great Very Cutie and well presented

Located in Punakaiki, 1 km from Punakaiki Scenic Attraction, Punakaiki Beach Hostel has a garden and a terrace. Free WiFi is available.

An array of activities are offered in the area, such as cycling and fishing. Super cosy, lovely feel to the place! Friendly staff, and everyone staying was kind. The kitchen and communal area was clean, and had such an amazing view. The bathrooms were clean, the rooms were amazing. Favourite stay of our trip! Pub / restaurant super close by too :)

Just 900 metres from Grey River, a popular swimming spot, Brunnerton Lodge and Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and free bicycle rental. Located in a historic miner’s pub, it features rooms with lovely garden and mountain views. Such a lovely, warm and comfortable place to stay. Easy parking, kitchen with all equipment and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again

YHA Tripinn Hostel Westport is 4 minutes’ drive from Carters Beach and the popular Coaltown Museum. Westport Airport is a 12-minute drive away. The most beautiful hostel. Clean, comfortable and so friendly.
