Amazing new hostel right next to both the bus station and the main restaurant blocks, couldn't be a better location. Very modern and comfortable, felt like a hip retreat center with the beautiful many different common areas. Controllable thermostat in each room. Highly recommend, totally worth the slightly higher price compared to a regular hostel.

Set in a refurbished 1874 building, Jailhouse Accommodation offers an on-site café and a guest lounge with a cinema projector. It is 10 minutes’ walk from Christchurch Railway Station. The old jail is a fun novelty. The property was clean, with sockets and a small shelf by the beds. Enforced quiet hours. Parking in front of the property.

The hostel has recently been renovated and you can really see the care and effort that went into it! The rooms are cozy, the beds are comfortable and there is a lot of storage room right under the beds. There are two fully equipped kitchens, that will take you right to a home-like dining area with a pool table. Not to forget that there are a lot of bathrooms around the building, all freshly cleaned and spacious. Oh, and if you're looking for a place close to the main attractions, you're good with Haka Hostel, which is right across the Botanical Garden and close to the shopping and dining area of Christchurch. We really loved our stay here and it made our Christmas extra special.

Renovated in 2015, Urbanz offers accommodation in downtown Christchurch. The building features a range of rooms with either shared or private bathrooms. I liked everything except that sometimes there was hair in the bathroom sinks.

Excellent location in the centre of Christchurch, bus stop just round the corner, 5 minute's walk. Excellent customer service, Manager / Owner very helpful and will go out of his way to ensure you have the perfect stay. Clean bathrooms, plenty of hot water for showers. Clean and tidy kitchens. Clean rooms with a comfortable bed. I loved the back garden and BBQ area the Manager / Owner has developed, a very homely, relaxing and comfortable place to spend the evening and meet up with fellow travelers from around the world. The next time I am in Christchurch I shall be back to stay at this hostel and shall recommend this accommodation to others while holidaying in Christchurch.
