Thomas and Tracy are great people. They help you with whatever you need and they welcome you warmly in their place. It was really easy to book shuttle and carparking for Tongariro with them.
The accommodation was clean, comfortable and homey. You can play a lot of games at lobby and watch netflix.
This was highlight of staying in NZ, lovely place with lovely people :)
Ohakune
Situated in the town of Ohakune, on the edge of Tongariro National Park, LKNZ Lodge & Cafe is within 5 minutes' walk of restaurants, bars and shops. It features a sauna, hot tubs and an on-site cafe. The property offers a range of accommodation from budget dormitories to private rooms spread over 3 lodges and complimentary unlimited WiFi. it is very clean and comfy. the staff are super helpful and friendly. We were late behind the schedule and we could not message them because of the poor network, luckily they have arranged our key in reception. This is definitely the best place you want stay when you travel around the national park.
Palmerston North

Easy, clean, comfy, warm.
Taihape

Super quiet and cozy. Got some good sleep and enjoyed my time here. Nice place out in the country where the owners live up top and the hostel is down below. Has a map where you can pin where you are coming from, which I did. I think that makes 4 people for Florida. They have a full kitchen available and a clothes washer. I think they have gotten less visitors post pandemic and I don’t normally write reviews but thought I’d let the pubic know this place is clean and I had a great time.
Raurimu

Receptionist was very kind. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen is nice big and clean.

Nothing, it was the worst place I've ever stayed in.
I had to move room 3 times and the room I ended up with I had to clean up and make the bed. I will never stay there again.
Hostel with a great location to the Tongariro National Park. Friendly Staff, big kitchen and shuttle service. Best of all, there is a climbing hall in the hostel! Highly recommend to stay here!
Perhaps the most comfortable bed we‘ve ever slept in. We slept like babies despite the fact that we had to get up at 5 am to catch a shuttle to Tongariro. We arrived late and were able to check in via a keybox. Aside from that it‘s more like a Youth Hostel. All needed facilities can be found. Power plugs are working. It‘s no luxury, but for the price a solid place to rest your limbs.
This was excellent for the cost. It is a 'backpacker' type accomodation but was clean, cosy, everythinng worked well, staff were very helpful. If you are on a budget you will be very pleased, if you just like to save you will be very happy here. If you want luxury look elsewhere. But clean comfortable quiet handy, this is great. We are mid 60's and could easily pay more but like to save and we liked it and would stay here again.

Clean room with beds made. Towels provided. Friendly helpful staff and excellent security measures meant I felt safe. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast at the cafe was not cheap but worth every penny. Delicious and nicely laid out cafe.
Very convivial and friendly atmosphere in the spacious kitchen. The location is great, very close to the Tongariro Alpine crossing. There is a nice little pub right beside it! It was so nice to have a family room with a private bathroom! We can hop on a shuttle right outside the youth hostel.
Friendly, extra nice with a piece of fruit and lollies as you check in. Happy place to stay. Lovely and clean. Great location. Had everything I needed. Great water pressure in shower. Spacious. Lovely decor. Has good deals -price suits my budget.

Skotel is in the most beautiful location - the wilderness is on the doorstep.... just step outside and start hiking. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are great (either backpacker budget or hotel style) and the restaurant is 10/10. Room prices and restaurant prices are excellent value - nothing like city prices here! This was my third visit to Skotel - I look forward to it every time. It is also a great place to meet new people - guests mingle easily and share their day in the wonderful environment of the National Park.
