Kanuka Ridge Lodge " and Backpackers "
A twisty-turny drive from Kaiteriteri ends going up a single lane driveway and leads you into a little oasis. The first thing I noticed when I got out of the car is the birdsong, so relaxing, and Weka birds are milling about. The greeting by owner Stu is friendly and welcoming. The cabins suit the setting, the room is clean and comfortable and amenities are better than expected based on other places I stayed. It's closer to the action than it feels. I will stay here again.

Very comfortable and fresh with great location
Affordable, clean and great location and comfortable bed.
One of the best hostels i have stayed in so far. First of the staff is really helpfull and kind, felt right at home. The hostel is really nice, it has a big garden with hammocks, pool tables, a cinema, an inside living room and a fireplace where u can roast marshmallows every night. The location is good aswell its on walking distance from the beach and the park and right next to the kayak hire and water taxi. Dorms and beds were great aswell!
Great facilities, friendly and informed personell and within walking distance of Abel Tasman national park. They helped me organize activites and informed me where to go. They came and picked me up and dropped me back of i Kaiteriteri. The best hostel I stayed in during my NZ trip!
So far the best hostel I stayed in NZ! The owner as well as the staff is super friendly and extremely helpful - they always assure all the guests are doing well. We spontaneously decided to do a camping trip in the Abel Tasman and they provided us a tent and sleeping bags. In case of bad weather they have lots of board games as well as a cinema and pool tables, nice indoor and outdoor common area.
The interior decor is beautiful! the use of timber features is lovely. sitting outside in the porch had a lovely outlook. very safe feeling for solo travellers. great location for boat trips to Abel Tasman park - which is spectacular!
It's probably the best hostel I have ever been in. The staff were amazing, and the whole place was so cosy. Thanks, guys, for the fantastic experience and the good chats.
Great location very close to Abel Tasman NP. The style of the dorm rooms made out of shiping containers is unique. During the summer a great place to stay. There are even an in-house cinema and pool tables. The upper bunk beds are a bit high, but all of them have two outlets and two USB ports.
Best hostel I’ve stayed in with the best atmosphere, location, facilities and staff.
even though the weather was bad most of the time I was here, this hostel has such a good sociable vibe and enough entertainment to keep you busy on the rainy days. staff are great and make you feel welcome. definitely stay here if you’re a backpacker in Mārahau! just a short walk to a couple of cafe’s and the start of the Abel Tasman track.
