There is a pizzeria just downstairs. Yoichi and Sam are very welcoming. The free transport to ginzan onsen was really helpful and was the highlight of my trip in Yamagata. I would recommend people to stay there.

It's a short walk from the two main stations (around 10 mins) and about a 20 min walk to the famous bridge. The place was modern (seemed recently opened) and was very clean throughout. I had a single room that was really spacious. The bed was comfy and it was a really quiet area. Best night's sleep in over a week! The kitchen/ lounge area was also spacious and clean. The owner/ staff were also really friendly and stopped in to have a chat. I wish I could have stayed longer - the cafe/ bar downstairs seemed like a cool place. Highly recommend!

Located around 19 km from Omagari Station, the hostel with free WiFi is also 21 km away from Tazawako Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 700 metres from Kakunodate Station. This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Well located a few minutes away from the station, with a supermarket 1 minute away and easy access to nature. Everything was convenient, clean and pretty, but above everything else was the owners kindness. Constantly present and helpful, they were a delight and an absolute pleasure to chat with. I intend to come visit Akita again, I don't know when, but I'll make sure to come back to this hostel.

The location was close to the train station and the Akita dog museum. I only stayed overnight so I missed the chance to see Akita dogs, which I was looking forward to. We arrived late but the warm reception with a complimentary ramen, which is only availble from 7-9 pm, was a delight. The hotel is old but well maintained. The toilet and bath was newly renovated and very clean. The bed was comfortable and conducive to a good night sleep.

All units at the hostel include air conditioning and a wardrobe. There are plenty of spaces for parking in front of the guesthouse. The burger and beer was good at the restaurant. My room rate didn't include breakfast. Not sure if they have.
