Niseko Tabi-tsumugi Backpackers

Kutchan

A 10-minute walk from JR Kutchan Train Station, Niseko Backpackers Hostel Tabi-Tsumugi offers simple accommodation with extra-long beds. A free-use kitchen with microwave, a lounge and a free-use internet terminal are featured.

All rooms at Tabi-Tsumugi Niseko Backpackers Hostel have Japanese futon bedding and shared showers. Guests can choose a private room or a dormitory room. Amazing hostel, the best place I’ve stayed in Japan in four years of visits! Ryo-san is the most wonderful and kind host! He organised some hotpot dinners for all of us to spend time together as well as trips to the onsen. The shuttle to the ski hill in the morning is great and he always has great banter even though he’s so busy! The whole place is cosy and feels like a home, it’s warm and the Japanese decor is wonderful and the kitchen and bathrooms are so clean and well kept! A seriously incredible place run by the best human. Ryo-san I’ll be back many more times!

Boken Kazoku

Kutchan

Surrounded by nature, Boken Kazoku is a traditional 90-year-old building with a terrace and a playground with mountain views. It offers a range of water sports, concierge services and free-use bicycles. A free shuttle is available from/to JR Kutchan Station and Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski Resort. The bus stop to go to Rusutsu Ski Resort is in front of the property. I guess I didn’t read the description but it’s a really cool property, it’s an old school turned into a hostel. The owners were extremely nice and communicated everything well. There a bus stop for both directions at the entrance making it very accessible to either town. When I got hurt and had to go to the hospital the grandma at the property who used to be a nurse helped re bandage my ankle after the hospital didn’t do a good job and everyone checked on me every day. It was really sweet.
