Youth Hostel St. Alban features both bedrooms with private bathrooms and shared dormitory rooms. All have a minimalist design but are still extremely comfortable. Expect lots of wood furniture and large windows. Very clean and comfy hostel, reception staff were lovely and accomodating. Was leaving very early in the morning before the free breakfast started so they made me one out of hours - best jam, bread and coffee I’ve had this trip!

Perfect in every way. Friendly welcoming staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Great facilities & vibe. One of the best hostels I've stayed at in Europe.
Facility and what youth hostel can offer is the best and reasonable price. Location is near the beautiful area + paper mill museum and Basel city wall. Not far from the river.
Such an exceptional dormitory I've ever stayed.. Loved the mood and interior, amazing homemade bread and granola..! No other hostel competes with here of the same price.
It’s an architectural masterpiece. A really interesting space. Also functional as a co-working/office space too that doesn’t get in the way of your stay. Staff were lovely as well. Overall quality was amazing, the best hostel we’ve stayed in. It’s more akin to a hotel that has hostel rooms, but still has a chic hostel vibe to it.
Great breakfast for a youth hostel, clean and comfortable rooms and a warm and friendly atmosphere. A real mix of ages - nice to see older people and families. Plenty of showers, so no need to wait.
The hostel is located in a nice area near old city - quiet with stream running by, trees, lovely church and small clusters of houses. Breakfast was good with enough to pick from. The shared dormitory room is spacious.
The friendly and accomodating staff are a major selling point for this hostel. Can't thank them enough for helping me out in a sticky situation. The communal areas are also great. Breakfast, though simple, offers quality products. Beds are comfortable, and the hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood. If you are coming by bike, there is a dedicated storage room for keeping your bike safe.
The breakfast was amazing. Some of the best hostel breakfast I have ever had and I believe it was included in the price, so that was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was nice and overall, the building looks cool. I enjoyed the patio outside to eat breakfast at. The downstairs lobby area was nice.
Happy for an option like that: comparably cheap and has all you need for someone who just needs an overnight stay because of missing train connections. Pleasantly surprised that there were slippers provided, a towel, shower gel (which smelled great) and compared to hostels it was quite clean. Also nice design inside the capsule.
Amazing for a youth hostel! Staff were friendly and helpful, beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were immaculately clean. Building is beautiful inside and out and it's a great location too (very close to the amazing Basel Paper Museum!).
