The Mansion features renovated rooms over three levels, connected by a grand double spiral staircase. The rooms are fitted out with bunk beds complete with privacy curtain, thick mattresses and pillows, a private bed light, power point and a locker. There is also a whole floor with air-conditioning available. The building is beautiful and at a very good location in the cbd. The staff were so helpful and accommodating! I know now that every time I travel to Melbourne I will choose the Mansion for my accommodation.

Guests can stay in either a private room or a dormitory room which all offer air-conditioning and heating. The unique bunk beds offer a power socket and 2 USB sockets as well as a private reading light. Linen and towels are provided and there are lockers and luggage storage for guests convenience. It gives you everything you need when you stay in a hostel. It has a very social vibe, many communal space. I met many people on the rooftop. It also gives you privacy. Each floor has many private bathrooms, which include shower , toilet and sink so you can do all your things in a room, without minding other people. It is also one of very few hostels whose bunk bed has curtain… When I moved to Sydney, I can’t find any has curtain… I don’t know why it’s not a thing in Australia hostel. Most importantly, it offers decent free breakfast. It’s not common in other hostel here as well.. If I am only staying in one place for a few days, it’s really annoying to buy box of cereal and carina of milk which I won’t finish for sure. Last but not least, staff are very friendly and helpful! ;)

Easy to catch a bus from the airport and return there. Room was bigger than I expected and clean. Comfortable bed and sheets. Good breakfast. People working were nice and polite. Area around has homeless people but felt safe even in night.

I liked that I got to have my own space, even if it was just a room, it my room for a night. I've paid more for a backpackers hostel which didn't have a smokers area, had to share with 3 other blokes and dormitory style setting. Here you get a literal house with your own safe and private (and not small either) room.
Location was good. Close to tram line. Lots of cafes near by. I only had one interaction with staff on check in and she was friendly. There was aircon and a fan in the room which helped with comfort levels on the really hot night I was there. Size of the room was good. Seems like quite a good place for backpackers and people wanting to meet new people as there are ample spaces to interact with others (at the pool table, the lounge area, the tables scattered around the hostel).
Location - It is right across from Flinders Street station and near to the cafes and tourist attractions. Female dormitory & safety - guests are issued a card to access the hostel's dormitories. The female dormitory also has a shared bathroom inside. People inside are nice Facilities - socket and storage shelf at your own bed, shared bathroom inside the room and along corridors, co-working space and kitchen, bar at the basement

Great location, very cheap compared to most other hostels.
It's a very very budget hotel but better than staying in a hostel. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I felt safe when in my room and was grateful for my own bathroom. I didn't notice any noise outside my room except for the occasional door slam. Close to the freeway which is good for access to the city in under 30 minutes.
Great location in the CBD with easy access to trams and trains. Bathrooms were the best hostel bathrooms I’ve experienced and the breakfast (12$ per person) was incredible for the price! All rooms/ bathrooms were kept extremely clean and were extremely comfortable for a multi-night stay.

The rooms are clean. The toilets are cleaned 5 times a day! The staff is really friendly and helpful! You even a lounge area, a nice rooftop area, a big kitchen and even a small gym. The location is perfect (directly in the CBD)! Not the most cheap hostel for backpackers, but still affordable! Had a great time here!
It was a basically all round practical place to stay for me. The staff were professional and the amenities were as expected in a budget hostel. I needed a place to store my baggage safely with valuable equipment inside and this was done with a locked and videod room which I appreciated.
