We didnt stay in the main building and we didnt hang out around, so dunno the vibe. The flat we stayed in, was very confortable, nice bed and hot shower, good wifi. Very nice neighbourhood.

I had a private room. The Hostel has more of a hotel feel. The rooms have nothing but a safe that didn’t work and a fan, however no AC, making for chilly stays on colder evenings. The location couldn’t be more central.

A Victorian mansion style establishment hosts the Ashanti Lodge Backpackers. Located close to the foot of Table Mountain, the wooden sun deck and the garden of the hostel offer views of the landscape....

The lodge was very nice in general for the price. I had a double bed for myself. The staff were nice and could check-in late at night after a long trip. They were helpful when I transferred to the other lodge to stay with my friend and also contacted a tour guide for me.

Pros: garden, the bar, the safety deposit box inside the room, position, the parking in front of the hostel (the road seemed safe), staff is kind and available
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
absolutely amazing , staff were very kind and the location is great , I loved that you able to move in and out of the premises freely and it’s completely safe
