It is possible to self check-in even late - that was very useful as I was arriving by a late train.
They were quick to respond via the messaging app in booking.
The host was ver nice and helpful.
A towel is included, no need to pay extra.
There are little tablets on the wall for the upper bunk beds, with a plug. It is very useful, and that is missing in too many hostels.
You can access it by public transport (the golden line) - even if sometimes you have to wait a while.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Gorgeous Victorian mansion is now an impeccably clean and welcoming hostel with both private rooms and dormitory accommodations. The downstairs common areas are amazing; my room was comfortable (I had one with 2 doubles). The shared bathrooms are super clean, as is the huge common kitchen. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Easily the best hostel I've stayed at overall, ever. It's in the most incredible building and all the systems are super well thought out. Amazing kitchen with high quality cooking items from chopping board to dishes. It was a really enjoyable place to stay and overall the staff were super. Only a few tiny things stopped me from giving a 10.
We loved this accomodation which was very different from the other ones of our trip. The hostess was very kind with us. The dwelling is an alliance between antique furniture (as the name "Victorean" suggests) and all the comfort you may expect (bed, kitchen equipments, bathroom). Before coming, we confess to have been a little bit anxious about Sacramento according to its reputation, but the neighbourhood seems safe and we had a quiet stay.
Beautiful historic building with very friendly and helpful staff! I took the train nearly at midnight; they stored the whole day my stuff and it was ok to spend the evening until my train left in the hostel. Hopefully I can visit Sacramento and the hostel in the future again :)!
This is the most beautiful youth hostel I ever stayed in. An old mansion from 1870 in central location. And the furniture and decorations match the period. More than I expected, very comfortable room. I booked a private room, not the dorm.
It is a safe hostel because you have to ring on the bell and show your key card in order to let in. The staff are very hospitable helpful and nice. The kitchen is very nice to cook in, and has all the facilities. Bathroom and shower area was a bit cold for me.
Very cute place! The house itself is an old mansion and they have done a great job in keeping the rooms in that style and fashion. I had a solo room and it was lovely. Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!
Great location for exploring Sacramento. Brilliant view of the freeway and bridge to Old Sacramento from our room but overpriced for the noisy stay. Window was not sound proofed and did not seal so the freeway noise was horrendous. Bring your sound-proofing headphones
