The atmosphere at Hostel Mama Minka is very friendly and the owners make you feel at home. The place is great, they also offer bikes for rent and a good place to rest after long walks/tours. We met some amazing people too. My boyfriend and I had only booked one night, but we liked the place so much that we used it as a base for a few days to explore the mountains and lakes, that we stayed for 3 nights in total. That's why we highly recommend you spend one or more nights there.

We loved everything about our stay here. Helena was so warm and friendly. The location was beautiful, next to a flowing river with mountain views.
The room was excellent with comfy beds and a kitchenette and Helena was so kind as to let us leave some smaller bags while we embarked on a four day hike.

Well located, Bohinj lake can be reached by foot (1h30) or by bus (2€, 15 min). Bled lake can be reached by train (3€, 20 min). The position is ideal if you don't want to pay for parking (expensive for both lakes).
There's free parking next to the hostel, which is nice.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Overall, the hostel is clean and the bed are relatively comfy.

Location was perfect, not too close to bled centre hustle bustle! Just outskirts but reachable! River Raduvna right next to the property, what a treat! Hosts are amazing, breakfast was delicious! The place was more like a home than a hostel, so much like a family. I def would say it was 5star hostel for the place, location, service, breakfast, price, travel tips, kitchen /lounge/ garden/ fire space, etc! I stayed in a hostel after 14 years, and it lived up to more than my expectations. I spent last day- 7/8 hours just chilling on the hammock instead of ticking off other touristy places.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
The best hostel one can wish for. It's decorated with wits and is comfortable, has everything one might need for a comfortable stay. Decent breakfast, hreat hosts.
The place is so chilled, friendly and clean with a great location. We stayed in a few different apartments and hotels during our one week holiday (not cheap ones)but this place was definitely the best in terms of location and atmosphere. Looking forward to returning to this area of Slovenia and to Hostel pod Voglom.
I loved the large kitchen that is available for use - you can cook and eat there.
The dormitory was ok. I liked that the toilets and showers are out of the dorm since you get disturbed less by noises, and there are multiple showers and toilets so no need to queue.
Location is good - less than 10 minute walk from the train station, and the bus to Lake Bohinj stops right next to the hostel.
The staff were fabulous. I rented a bike to look for a restaurant. I was a few villages down the mountain when a wild thunderstorm hit with torrential rain. It was dark and the roads were flooded. I was quite worried for my safety. When the girls from the hostel noticed I hadn't returned the bike by 6pm, they sent a search party! I was rescued!

Great location. The area around the hostel is so beautiful. Staff were helpful and gave us useful information about climbing Triglav and told us where to rent a harness for the via ferrata
Great location, peaceful but only a short walk from the centre.
The bathroom was listed as being private but separate but it was within apartment so effectively private. It was much cheaper than anything else and more than adequate. Although there was no real kitchen, just a kettle and fridge, it was more of an apartment than a room.
great location next to Bohinj lake, positioned in a way to capture beautiful views. reception staff were so lovely and restaurant served superb top quality food! If you enjoy hiking, swimming in the (cold!!) lake, being outdoors this is for you. 45 min / €2 coach to Bled which is beautiful however full of tourists so this is a cheaper more quiet alternative. (one would say more beautiful)
