Great location, friendly and professional staff, a bit dated generally, we had a budget room so wouldn't have expected great comforts. This room was the same price of the cheapest Airbnb.
I'm going to miss the Marion so much! Best hostel I've been while in NZ (and probably anywhere else!?).
Super comfy bed, great staff, cool common rooms and kitchen, everything always clean! Free bike rentals! It's a great place both if you want to meet new people or if you want to be on your own. And a great place to start exploring Welly! 😊
Best hostel I've stayed in. Amazing converted building with lots of different areas for socialising, sitting quietly, cooking, etc. All the facilities you expect from a decent hostel and more. Like hot drinks freely available, towels provided, curtains on bunk beds.
Best hostel we've ever stayed in - in terms of clean and facilities.
The staff (didnt get the guys name unfortunately) on reception was lovely and helped us with parking!
Kitchen had everything - free tea/coffee/hot chocolate and free milk & milk alternative. Free herbs and spices to help transfer your normal cheap pasta traveller dish.
Room was nice and comfortable.
Bathrooms clean and nice.
Shared areas inviting.
Global Backpackers was one of the best Hostels I've ever stayed so far, everything's perfect, specially the friendship I was always treated. Counting the days to get back there:
Hostel cat which is very friendly. very helpful and friendly staff. great location, very close to everything. kitchen had everything we needed. staff always cleaning around the hostel. different kitchens on different floors so never got too crowed. felt safe as they lock the doors and have security guards overnight. hairdryer and straighteners in bathroom.
Great location in the city and great atmosphere within the hostel.
Plentiful kitchen facilities.
Have to highlight the bathrooms - best hostel bathrooms I have ever experienced.
Definitely recommend staying here.
