I needed a dorm bed to rest my head before hiking Trolltunga, and the Bakkegata was perfect. I got in just after midnight and left at 5:30am, so it was nothing more for me than a place to rest my head. I came in when everyone was sleeping, passed out, and woke up and went out with everyone else. What was truly exceptional was the hospitality - Helga (not sure if she's owner or manager) stayed up past midnight to personally welcome me and make sure I was guided to my bunkbed with no issues. Excellent service and value. Highly recommend.

Each self-catering studio features a dining area and a kitchenette fitted with a refrigerator. There is also a private bathroom with a shower. The dormitory rooms have access to a shared kitchen and shared bathroom.

This stay was perfect for hiking Trolltunga. There is a bus stop with Trolltunga-shuttle just outside (stop E). It has everything you need but bare bones, definitely more of a budget stay but well kept and lovely people.

Really nice location for hiking to Trolltunga the next day, it’s next to the Tyssedal stop! Not all the bed were booked so we were alone! Nice contact with the personal by email. We could arrived earlier than 5pm so thank you!

Staff were responsive and helpful with all my questions and laundry. The hostel shuttle was quite nice to pickup right at the hostel, but I didn't realize that I could get a regular bus to P2 lot. Great value for the price and area.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location near the bus station. It is esentially focused on hiking to the Trolltunga. Therefore, everybody behave according to the hinking's demands. Good kitchen and shower.

The hostel is located in the downtown center, close to the bus station and three supermarkets. With a fully equipped kitchen, it's a good choice for a Trolltunga hiking trip.

The staff are friendly and helpful with some advice on the Trolltunga hike. The room is basic and clean. Trolltunga shuttle bus picks us up from the hostel, save us time to go to the bus station which is about 30 mins walk away.

Great location and spacious apartment with everything you need for a nice stay. Really liked that there are no keys to collect, you just unlock the doors with a code and the host sent very good instructions on everything prior to the check-in.

Cute apartment that was in a great location. Within walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurant options. We had a lot of space in the apartment which was great for relaxing after a long day.

There aren't many hostels I'd give a 9/10 rating to but for a mixed-dorm hostel, it's about as good as it gets. All very clean, comfortable beds, nice showers, good kitchen area. Good value for money. Great location if you're driving or getting a bus to Trolltunga (P1, P2, P3)

The hostel itself is really nice. The problem was just that some people were snorting the whole night and it was impossible to sleep 😅 But I guess it’s just a problem of the hostel concept itself, not this particular one. So I recommend this place as there are not that much more options in Odda for cheap accommodation, but I’d rather go to the camping site next time nearby!
