Mt.Takao Base Camp, hotel in Hachioji

Situated 6.7 km from Mount Takao, Mt.Takao Base Camp offers 3-star accommodation in Hachioji and has a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar.

Overall, we were really happy with our choice to stay at this hotel with our kids. It was a last-minute nature getaway to hike Mt. Takao, and the family room was perfect for us. They even allowed us to check in a little early, which we really appreciated, as this is quite unusual in Japan! The accommodation was just as we hoped it would be and the staff were kind (except for the unusual restaurant situation below). We had good expectations from the other reviews--we knew the mattresses would be thin and the pillows made of beans, so we anticipated a more rustic stay, and we really enjoyed it!

The clean and well-maintained facilities of the hostel offer a refreshing retreat after a day of outdoor adventures. The simple yet inviting style permeates the atmosphere, providing a serene ambiance for guests to unwind. Additionally, the exclusivity of my own room during the quieter period in May was a definite highlight, allowing for a more personalized experience.

Great location near hiking trails and train station. Handy to have a cafe downstairs. Lovely wooden interior. I also liked the curtains around the bunks for privacy. Showers were fantastic! Very quiet when I was there in February if you like that.
