Overall ok budget accomodation, near the centre (but that's quite easy in a small town), and fair enough to crash down after a long hike. The kitchen is well equipped, the showers are hot, there's a comfortable tv lounge and a dry room available.
Located on the West Highland Way, the Blackwater Hostel is located in Kinlochleven. It offers free WiFi and free onsite parking. Each private room includes a TV and a shower room.

As hostels go, this is really good with good facilities. Really nice exclusive use room with en suite shower room. Fab location. Kitchen and dining room were very good. Management were really good too, sorted out an issue promptly and efficiently.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
I was in one of the tent boxes - it was ample space and confortable thanks to the matress. The staff where very helpful and let me store a bicycle in a dry and safe place. Great location, beautiful landscape, would recommend it 100%.
Fantastic hostel with great views, our group had the place to ourselves. Great location, facilities, comfortable beds, lovely hot showers etc. highly recommend a stay.
Very convenient lodge in a quiet environment. We felt as if we were youngsters in a small youth hostel, and we enjoyed it. The common parts were very clean and practical. Our daughter loved observing the deers nearby!
great location and very cheap. log cabin was just about big enough for 4 men and bike gear. friendly bar/reception staff. good food and reasonable prices.
Very well equipped kitchen and dining room. Decent shower in the room and bunk beds were comfy. Nice location to explore Kinlochleven - the walk up to the Grey Mare's Tail is well worth doing. There wasn't a lockable shed, but the staff kindly let me store my bike indoors. I'm sure it would have been safe outside anyway.
The rooms were very clean and well suited for familys with en-suite bathrooms and full bedding provided. The community kitchen was great with many appliances, fridges, grocery sharing and cake leftovers from a baking contest. It was nice to cook there and meet new people. The entry by password was convenient. Blackwater Hostel is an above the average hostel for sure.
very clean and tidy. the drying room was excellent after a day hiking the whw in the rain. great location for the whw and dinner in the evening. I’ve stayed in quite a few hostels and I thought this one was particularly clean and well serviced. i liked the fact that it was well serviced - quick and easy. staff were very responsive on booking.com
Excellent hostel, very comfortable and a great location.
