The youth hostel provides a good range of facilities including dorms and private rooms, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a spacious dining area, a large drying room and ample parking for cars and buses. There is also a large open-plan lounge which provides stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountains and surrounding woodland.
Probably one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed in, in the UK. Clean, beautiful location, really big commercial kitchen, laundry, really nice common area

What a comfy place! So quiet! We stayed for a week in April and it was still cold outside, but on days when we stayed in, there was a fire in the living room keeping us warm and cozy. Andy and Rebecca make you feel right at home. Andy always has suggestions for where to hike based on your experience--easy woodland walks to monro-bagging. Breakfast is warm and filling. We really appreciated the VERY WELL-EQUIPPED self-catering kitchen. You won't find a better price-point for this kind of facility anywhere in the Cairngorms!
Loch Morlich (Near Aviemore)
This 72-bed youth hostel provides great facilities including a good range of dorms and private rooms, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, bike storage, a drying room and WiFI. Cooked breakfasts, packed lunches and full evening meals are also available. Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel is popular with outdoor enthusiasts.
The nature surrounding Cairngorm Lodge is gorgeous and there's many different trails close by for beginners and veterans alike. The Hostel even has it's own restaurant which is good value for money. The staff were always really friendly and helpful and were able to help with any that may arise. But by far my favourite thing about the hostel was the "quiet room" with it's comfortable sofas and chairs. There's even newly renovated bathrooms/bath pods which are really slick looking. I can warmly recommend this Hostel to anyone staying in the Highlands. And I can also recommend Glenmore as it is breathtaking.
Kincraig (Near Aviemore)
In the western region of the Cairngorms National Park, Insh Hall provides simple bed and breakfast accommodation at the Loch Insh Outdoor Centre. The centre offers a wide range of sports, a restaurant and bar and free parking and WiFi.
It was a beautiful property with self catering cabins and hotel rooms attached to a watersports resort with facilities directly on loch Insh. The rooms are basic and well maintained. The staff are helpful and kind.
