All guest rooms in the hostel are equipped with a TV with cable channels. Rooms are complete with a private bathroom fitted with a shower, while some units at HOSTAL DEL RÍO also feature a terrace. At the accommodation the rooms come with bed linen and towels.

Breakfast consisted of eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and a sandwich, all very good. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe walking during the day to the main cathedral and parque. The natural beauty of the area is a plus, as Ibarra is surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

It is located not far from center and surroundings seem safe. They have private garage where you can park for safety.

The location is great. The staff is super helpful. The relationship expectation to price is exceeded easily. The breakfast was good. I did add some canela sticks from my own. During our visit, we needed buy a medicine and the manager took 5 minutes to order from the pharmacy at 11PM for just a $2 tip to the driver. They go the extra mile. Love it. Accommodations are hostel like but neat and tidy with everything packed in a cozy place.

Great location, friendly owners (and dogs!). Good place to start your hike of Imbabura Vulcano, or chill in the garden. Would definitely recommend!

It was quiet, which matches the atmosphere of the city, and in a great location. It was perfect for me to do some remote work from.

I came to this hostel and ended up at that moment the only guest staying there. A bit out of the way and tired, I didn't expect it to be the wonderful ecperience it was. All credit goes to Emerson. He's a beautiful and amazing human being I spent hours speaking with about everything and he did his absolute best to make me comfortable, not as a business but as a friend. The environment and facilities fhemselves were really creative and cool. With a group of people, I can imagine it being a place you could get stuck at!
