Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped us book the tour cars to the grand canyon, daxia rainbow mountains and the grottoes.
Super convenient and cheap. They even gave us free breakfast, while it was not included in the booking, i think it came with the cars we booked.
They also gave great restaurant recommendations.
You can do laundry there, bathrooms are very clean and vibe is really friendly.
Location is great, in the middle of the center, Zhangye is a nice city to roam around.
All the sights of Zhangye are walkable from this friendly hostel. The rooms are great and the hosts are helpful in planning all kinds of excursions- there is a list with prices posted next to the lobby, very affordable small group tours. You can arrange transport from the train station and day trips to the top attractions. The breakfast was so yummy, and they shared their special brewed flower tea and locally grown watermelon with everyone. I felt very welcome here.
We liked the hostel a lot. It has a very nice atmosphere. The owner and the staff are very, very friendly and helped us a lot.
We met a lot of other travellers there and felt like in a "real" hostel. We would definitly come back, if we are in Zhangye again one day. Thanks for everything:).
Great English-speaking staff. Great location - close to big Buddha statue. And great that they organise a van to take guests to Danxia coloured hills, Mati Si grottos and elsewhere. Highly recommended.
The breakfast was in a small restaurant. There a lot of them around the hotel, very cheap and tasty.
In the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They wrote me in Chinese a few phrases which I used later, to get the colored mountains and airport. The double room (for 121 yuans per night) was very clean.
