Our stay was one of the highlights of our 2-months Indonesia trip. Java Turtle Lodge is an exceptionally beautiful place to stay at where they look after you and want you to have the best experience. Our villa was clean & comfy, showers were hot, food was delicious and the garden is actually my dream garden with a fish pond and hammocks. We had an amazing time on our Sukamade turtle trip. In all honesty, this was the most expensive trip we paid for on our trip, but it was so worth it. First we visited Green Bay for a little hike & swim, then we had a fun 2 hours jeep ride, deep in nature, to Sukamade beach. Later, we went to the beach to spot turtles who might come to lay their eggs. We were not lucky to see one in action, but we followed her way back into the ocean. We spent the night at the national park rangers’ post, which was a minimal room but had everything we needed. And the best thing… we released baby turtles in the morning. Everyone included in this trip was genuine and treated animals fairly. A much recommended stay and trip!

There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. This place is so special! Surrounded by jungle and wildlife. Beautiful CLEAN (no trash) stream on the property, and if you are lucky, the owners will have a rescue otter in their care that you can visit. The structures are wooden joglo type buildings, so open air and more rustic. BUT - Erica does an AMAZING job of keeping it all so clean. I don't know how she does it (we live in Indonesia and know how hard it is to keep things clean). Just little things like the light fixtures and fans being spider and bug free. This is a treat for a place in the middle of a jungle! But - westerners be aware - you will be STAYIN IN A JUNGLE - there WILL be wildlife and small lizards. So you may come across a few ants in your kitchen or a tiny piece of lizard poo somewhere. BUT - you are IN THE JUNGLE - please do not complain. This couple works SO Hard to make this place clean and enjoyable, and one of the wonderful thinks about it is that it is in nature, and the natural habitat keeps it all healthy. So - if you want a sterile environment, go to a traditional cement hotel. But if you want a restful place to stay after hiking Ijen, or you want to enjoy nature and take a break from the city, wow, this place is so special. If we didn't live 7 hours away, we would make this place an annual destination. Thank you Mark and Erica for your care and attention.

Located on such amazing private area with a peaceful neighborhood, and has Lots of green areas. It’s also close to great restaurants, the cbd, and the two main airports. Thank the host, which is a lovely person, I could enjoy a lot more of my staying, and visit the best places around the city. I highly recommend, and I’ll certainly come back to another long staying.

The scenery is incredibly calm, the bed is comfortable, and the snacks are delicious. While there is no TV yet, since the place is quite new, it allowed us to fully relax without the distraction of media. The owner was very friendly and helpful in guiding us to the location. It was a nice escape!
