Ebor Lodge

Eastbourne

On Eastbourne seafront, Ebor Lodge offers well-appointed rooms and a full breakfast menu. This East Sussex guest house has free Wi-Fi and is within 15 minutes’ walk of the Royal Hippodrome Theatre and the town’s 1930s bandstand. The room was lovely with a big bay window overlooking the sea. Breakfast, and food and drink supplies in the room were great. I had to move the furniture around as I was looking for something I had lost, and it was immaculately clean everywhere I looked. David and Pascal could not have been kinder, and on arrival we were greeted warmly and David immediately took charge of our big case, carrying it up the stairs to our lovely room. Our stay could not have been nicer. Great place to stay.

The homestay offers bed linen, towels and housekeeping service.

Guests at the homestay can enjoy a continental breakfast, and breakfast in the room is also available. We loved the old world charm of the large room with it’s bay windows and fireplace. The bed was very cosy and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with not just a shower but a stand alone bath tub. Extra towels were provided with bath robes and slippers. Also, extra treats provided, for example home made chocolate cake on arrival, were exceptional. Our host was fantastic and the breakfasts she provided each morning were a feast for the eyes and tastebuds. Although the street is narrow, parking was not a problem.

The property features city and quiet street views, and is 3.5 km from Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway Adventure Park. Outdoor furniture is available for guests to relax or dine outside. I really enjoyed staying at Seaview Sanctuary where I had a lovely bright, comfortable room overlooking the garden. Richard and Katie were so helpful and there was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with delicious cakes, tea and coffee available for guests in the conservatory each afternoon. The position was perfect being so near the seafront and a short walk to the pier and town centre. I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone wanting a holiday by the sea in lovely Eastbourne.

Number 46 is a short walk from the railway station and also from the seafront. We were greeted and shown to our room which was very comfortable, off the first flight of stairs and very quiet. It was clean and thoughtfully kitted out - a lot of thought had gone into the decor and comfort. There was a good choice of things for breakfast - individual fresh fruit salads in preserving jars, individually boxed cereals, beautifully cooked poached eggs, and good coffee. Checkout was seamless and we arranged to come back to pick up our bags later on the day we left.
