It was just brilliant to relax on the balcony with a glass of their excellent beer and enjoy the view. I would definitely recommend this place.

The Hotel Föhrenhof Garni is situated in a peaceful area on the edge of a forest in Farchant, just 3 km from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The sun terrace and garden offer a beautiful view of the Zugspitz and Wetterstein mountains. This is easily the best stay we had on our entire trip. The staff is extremely friendly, breakfast was excellent, the property is conveniently located close to hiking trails and the village has a very relaxed feel. We will be back for longer. Highly recommended!

It was a pleasant change compare to "stay with local" type of accomodation when you receive only code to unlock your door but never meet the locals. The accomodation has garden where you can relax and I was allowed to park my bike here. It is located is in peaceful area approximately 40 minutes by public transport from the city center, but you can also find supermarkets nearby. Although you share the house with the owners, you have privacy with the facilities on your floor. The rooms are comfortable and thematically designed, bathroom is shared but doesn´t feel crowded.
