Amazing hospitality from the owner of the property. He went beyond his call of duty, provided us with good guidance of the the township and took us around to see the surroundings/countryside. Interesting and engaging conversation via Google Translate. He showed a genuine interest in the welfare of the people of Taiwan and the ingenious people of the land. We were picked up from the train station, dropped off and picked up the 3 nights that we stayed and took us to the morning market to purchase our breakfast. We were very moved by his generosity of time and kindness. Thank you boss for looking after us while we stayed with you, we highly recommend your beautiful Graceland Manor Retreat to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay while they are in Hualien visiting Taroko National Park. Full disclaimer: I received a free room upgrade however this is my honest review. Staff were friendly and check-in process was straightforward. Plenty of hot water and rooms was exceptionally clean. Comfortable bed. 2 parking spaces outside for car. About 30 minutes drive to the gorge. Lots of great restaurants in the town (driving distance)

Actually I only booked the room for four of my family, but I want to join with the breakfast time with them. So I asked the housekeeper if I could pay for breakfast and he said their breakfast are not for sale, but he would treat me a free meal. What a nice person he is! We did have a very wonderful time there, enjoy the peaceful moment and comforting view.

The reception staff is considerate and welcoming. The room and bed is very clean although the room is not very sound proof. Fortunately they also provide ear-pods for sleeping well . I love the outdoor area in floor 7 , I brought some fruits and sat on the bar table , enjoyed the green and the mountain in rural area, made me feel very relaxed , it's a good place for solo travel.
