Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Soudak warmly greeted us at the louage station and welcomed us into his home. We felt very comfortable in the apartment and appreciated his genuine warmth. He gave us a tour of all of the rooms and how to use the appliances. We really appreciated that he took the time to greet us and show us around, it was a lovely touch. A lovely host!
The entire family welcomed me with great hospitality. They made Tunisian spaghetti for dinner and rice dish for lunch. It was truly the best food I had during my entire stay in Tunisia. They always made sure I was comfortable and safe. I had unforgettable home stay like experience. Really enjoyed having great conversations with the beautiful family.

There were great tips and advice for tourist activities, the host knows what is important.
And it's a good place to retreat to when you need to relax.
But also to spend time together with the host family, for example traditional dinner.

Lovely accommodation from a lovely host. We really enjoyed it here, in a quite side-road of the town overlooking palm trees and a garden. Mr Saddy is extremely nice and welcoming and even left some local sweets for our breakfast. Highly recommended for couples and small groups of traveller.
This is a great hostel, and the host and staff make it so. They were helpful in every regard, from day to day information, to solving my passport problem, to arranging an excellent driver for our Berber village tour. Highly recommended!
