We are very demanding ourselves regarding our living environment and Marko’s rooms have been just up and beyond that standard. He really did a fantastic job in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The atmosphere of the rooms is magic - total silence and permanent cool temperature with really comfy beds. Nothing beats a good night’s sleep!

I find it really hard to start, i would call this a gem. Everything was perfect, the location, the host, the property (perfect mattress - hard!), loved it, super friendly host who helps you with any questions, our doggos loved to play together, we also received little gifts - which mader our day just that little better. We enjoyed our time at Gostilna Tratnik a lot and recommend it to everyone looking for a authentic stay in Slovenia. Milos, Tommy and the whole family are really nice hosts. They gave us excellent recommendation for trips, hiking tours or a convivial wine tasting down the valley with local wine grapes. The location up the hill at Col at about 600m was a great starting point for hiking tours (starting directly at the hostel) and to discover the whole Karst region. During summer the height difference to the valley offers comfortable temperatures during night and day. The breakfast was a good, abundant start in the day. We further strongly recommend the dinner in the restaurant at a very reasonable price. Milos and his son are passionate cookers and are seeking to serve traditional and regional food from Slovenia. We will definitely come back again!
