The owners gave us a very warm welcome and the property had a lovely ambience. We had everything that we needed for a lovely stay and a lovely touch were the complimentary chocolates and caramel wafer biscuits which we really enjoyed! In the morning we enjoyed a lovely Scottish breakfast which we’d highly recommend. Thank you very much Lorna & Dougie for welcoming us into your home, we had a really lovely stay.

I could bring my bag to the house before check-in. Nancy was always quick to reply to my messages. The staff in general were really nice and welcoming. My room was very clean and beautiful (there were even flowers in the room). Linen and towels were included. There was enough space for luggage and lots of drawers and a wardrobe with hangers. Proper desk with a seat, desk lamp, make-up mirror and a kettle and a mug with complimentary coffee and tea. There was even hand sanitiser in the room which I really appreciated. There was a roller curtain and also normal curtains so you could block out the light if needed. I slept really well even though the mattress was softer than I'm used to. The duvet was really nice and warm which was important as at this time of the year it is too early to turn the radiators on but it can still get quite chilly. My private bathroom was directly opposite my room and it was also very clean and well-supplied with shower gel, shampoo, hand wash and toilet paper. The big towel and hand towel were changed daily and the rubbish was taken daily as well.
The location was really good. There was a big Sainsburys and M&S less than 15 minutes walk away (on the bus route from the city centre). Not many restaurants in the area but didn't bother me as I ate in the city centre or bought something from the shops. (There is an Indian restaurant really close-by that looked nice and by the grocery stores there was a Burger King and a Nando's I think.) The bus stops to and from the centre were right by the house. And it was just a couple minutes walk to the Skylink bus stop to the airport. On the bus, it took about 20-40 minutes to get to the centre, depending on traffic. And as long as you stuck to one bus company you could travel as much as you wanted in the city for about £5. I went to St Andrews one day and even the bus stop for that was right by the house.
This Victorian guest house is 2.4 km from Edinburgh city centre, with easy access by bus. It has guaranteed free parking for each room, free Wi-Fi and traditionally decorated luxury rooms.

We had a nice stay here with pleasant hosts. Price / value ratio a bit high, facilities and rooms did not exceed expectations.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
A lovely location with lovely hosts. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Everything had been thought of including gluten free food items for 1 guest who requires these. Highly recommended. We hope to return at some point in the future.
Perfect in every way ! Queensferry is just amazingly beautiful and charming.
