The view is amazing! We took the one beside the garden and it was perfect. Some were swimming but there were times the lake looked a little dirty. The staff are friendly and helpful.

2) Less quiet compared to city centre area from day trip visitors. (Hallstat is not that big to explore.)

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
A good hostel just 10 mins by car from Hallstat. Bad Goisern has plenty to offer itself. The hostel is just 5 mins. on foot from its town square. I went there during the offseason, so I was pretty much alone in the whole facility. The place offers a good kitchen, clean bathroom and comfortable beds. Considering the rates in the area it is a really good value for money. Checking was seemless and the host was very nice. Highly recommended.
The location was central to ask the lakes and just the right distance from all the tourist attractions. Thomas was a great host and very helpful with great suggestions. Breakfast was also available to order upon request.
Great host at the hostel, clean and tidy and I was able to leave my bag there early to get extra exploring in , easy to get to train station and to hallstatt or obertraun from there.
Had a very comfortable stay at Home Bound Home Stay! Lovely cozy apartment with all modern amenities. View from the rooms is breathtaking! Kids play room was a great addition. We loved our stay here!
