We ate vegetables from the garden, as we were told we could. The area is great for walks and cycling. There are three bikes in the shed available for use by guests, one of which is an Ebike. The bed is very comfortable and we slept really well.

Guests at the holiday home can enjoy cycling nearby, or make the most of the garden. We received a warm welcome from Erna (and a bottle of wine)! The house was very clean, with luxury finishes, well equipped (all the appliances worked), nice, fully fenced garden (perfect for our dachshund). The bathroom was new with a nice, big shower. We took our small barbeque with us and had fantastic weather to enjoy this part of the Netherlands. The two electric bicycles were very handy and welcomed :) Loads of bicycle tracks in the area and the town Otterlo and its people are absolute gems. Everything was perfect and we had a great time.

Het Uilennest is a detached holiday home situated in the green scenery of Otterlo in the Gelderland Region and is 4.1 km from Hoge Veluwe National Park. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site. The picture on the website are nice, but is really really nice to be there. There was a special app for keyless entry which was new to me, but always worked fine. We were greeted with a nice card, an Easter chocolate and a bottle of wine. I loved the stainless still kitchen counter and backsplash. The kitchen was very well equipped. Very very well designed space, a lot of smart storage. The remote control fire place was also very nice. One of the best features was looking out of the windows and watching the birds and squirrels. It was a bit too cold during our stay to really eat outside or sit for long periods in the chairs, but everything was nice.
